Xander isn't actually dead. Lindsey somehow got the surgeon to fake his death -- which would explain why they wouldn't let the group see Xander's body coz Angel would've been able to tell he wasn't really dead. And so, now, Lindsey's trying to plot Angel's downfall (yet again), and Xander's having an out of body experience.
