Just a quick drive by to say Hi! :D
Um, I have told you guys I'm in the process of moving, right? *ponders now that I've opened this message and wishes I didn't have the memory of a flea*
Moving is almost complete. We're finishing up tomorrow and can I tell you how happy that makes me? Well, except for the mountain of stuff in my mom's garage that I have to sort through and figure out what to do with....pack rat much? *g* Also, in the woe is me department, my old place got so musty this summer (old house + 90 degrees + no air conditioning) that I'm having to wash ALL of my clothes. ALL OF THEM. Seriously, do you know how many loads of laundry that is going to be? I know, WHINE. Fortunately, my mother loves me and is helping cause I truly hate laundry. :D However, this is also of the good because I'm getting rid of a bunch of stuff that I never wear. You should see the pile that's going to the Salvation Army. Now I just have to figure out how to keep them clean now that I have them clean when I pack them up to give them away....uh, did that make sense to anyone but me?
In related news, the internet connection here totally sucks so I'm not really sure what I'm going to do. You'd think that the fancy schmancy houses across the lake would have people living in them who insisted on excellent internet connections. Why can't I have bitchy rich neighbors who insist on the best? Heh. I mean...there are doctors and lawyers and CEO's over there. Come on, people, use your money for something good! Get me good internet service. *eg* Fortuanately, firefox lets me open tabs as I'm scrolling through the flist so I'll be able to comment on stuff soon. I have a gazillion tabs open at the moment so when I get back to my brothers later I'm going to read more. I'd read now, but as soon as I switch pages, I get booted. It's mucho annoying.
And just for the funny...I was just out on the back porch and the neighbor across the lake (yes, one of the fancy places) was yelling at his dog. No, not cause the dog was being bad. Cause the dog wasn't following directions apparently. The guy kept saying "no, go to the fire pit" and "that's not the fire pit" Now, i know dogs are smart and all...but I didn't know they understood *that* much. Especially when he's up on the deck and the dog is wayyyyyy down in the yard by the water. Uh? Anyhoo, not sure if it's as funny trying to explain as it was to watch, but it made me giggle. Especially when I could hear the guy whining to his wife that the dog wasn't listening. *snicker*
Finally, just cause I can, seriously, what is up with people being mean lately? There's this one person who has just been putting the nastiest, cutting remarks on their LJ. Now, I whine as much as the next person, but seriously, if I ever bash someone I hope someone bashes me right back over the head. We all have bad days (and Me!Me!Me! days) and I like to read what's going on in my flists life. But I don't want to read bashing fandom stuff. There is no reason for it. We all have stuff to contribute and having so many people still around to appreciate the fandom is what makes it such a great place to be. You don't have to friggin like everything you see or read to appreciate the fact that someone is making an effort. Good grief. People like that make me so mad. Especially when their stuff isn't all that great anyway. They act like they should be King/Queen of the fandom or something. Not so much. I never claim to be the best at this writing thing. I do it for FUN. I know other people take it much more seriously than that and I applaud them for using the fandom as a forum to improve their writing/manipping skills. I'd like to think that I'm a better writer now than when I first started. But does that mean I'm the best fanfic writer ever? *snorts* Not so much. Heck, sometimes the things you guys like the most take me 15 minutes to write. But really, who cares? It's my contribution and I have FUN with it. If you don't like it, don't pick on me for it. Sheesh. (And no, this mean person wasn't picking on me cause if they were I probably wouldn't be bitching about it like this.) I just want mean people to take their holier than thou attitudes home. So there. *climbs off soapbox*
Okay, I've put off working long enough. Mount St. Pile of Stuff in Garage and Mount St. Pile of Laundry is waiting for me to come and sort it. More fic to come next week. I promise! Just as soon as the move is done and I can think about something besides all the work I have to do. *damn RL and its distractions*
(But YAY! Ash is back! WOO HOO!!!!!!!)
*hugs*
